imma fool

i made a total and complete FOOL of myself at the gas station a few hours ago. it was my first time paying with cash, so my brother explained to me exactly what to do. i followed his instructions very carefully, i went inside told the lady exactly how much i wanted to put towards gas and which pump i was at. simple right? so i pay, go back to my car, select my fuel type, and press the handle to begin fueling. WRONG. nothing happened, so i try to make use of my resources, i ask the lady at gas pump number one if im doing something wrong. she cant figure it out so she instructs me to go back inside and ask if she put the money towards my pump. this time there was quite a line, i make my way to the front to ask a quick question. the moment i open my mouth she looks at me like im the stupidest person innnnnnn the world. she asks me in a very sarcastic tone "have you ever gotten gas before?" i try to explain myself so i dont look so dumb. im pretty sure it didnt work. one of the guys in line helps me out, he asks if i pulled up the lever thing. so i go back to the car, search a bit find the lever, pull it up and it still didnt work. at this point i was ready to just take off and let the next person in line get my gas. i tried one last time i put the lever thing up and down a few times, clicked the handle a few times. my brother who has been waiting in the car this whole time rolls down the window, peers out, and asks whats the problem. i quickly tell him to go back inside, mainly cause i dont feel like explaining it to him. finaaaalllllly after like an hour of trying to put gas in my tank i got it to work. i hope i never have to get gas in my life again.
